Just wanted to extend a big thank you to you and your team for transforming my car into something that I now love rather than like. The difference to its handling and ride quality is astonishing. Had a great drive home, but yesterday was the real test when I was able to get the suitcases and old suspension out of the boot. The roads were a little damp but I was still able to throw the car around these Cornish lanes with confidence rather than fear. I have a feeling I am going to have to contact the finance company to increase my annual mileage allowance. . .

Autocar and Birds have collaborated over the past 6 months on a project car, a BMW F21 M135i, by upgrading many different aspects of the model which are all included in the Birds B1 Complete Conversion package.

The contents of the Birds B1 Complete Conversion:

"Our M135i out-punches the M2 by 25bhp and 51lb ft of torque, so it feels stronger through the mid-range and more urgent near the redline. But with less power to deploy to the road, and wider tyres with which to do it, the M2 does have better traction..."

Just a quick note to thank you and your staff for the work done on the car, it does indeed feel a different vehicle, the crashing about over bumps and jumping around has disappeared, the engine throttle response is much improved as is the power.

I got back here last night around 10.15pm, hoping I have not triggered any bloody speed cameras.

All being well I will return the car to you early on the 9th March for the brakes, if its ok I will wait while they are done, I can always go for a walk to pass the time.

Hi Kevin, I was home this last weekend for an unplanned visit and was able to try the car. The change is remarkable, with so much more compliance to the suspension and the car feels much more stable and planted, even on uneven country roads. Also there was no tramlining under braking. I only wish that I had done this years ago.

I will contact you when I am back to arrange for collection of the old tyres.

"Working with BMW tuners Birds, we’re going to replace the standard, under-specified suspension with much higher-quality Bilstein components tuned specifically for the M135i, we’re going to fit a Quaife limited-slip differential and we’re going to lift power to somewhere approaching 400bhp. We might yet make a few other modifications, too..."
