Hi Kevin,
I tested the car last couple of days and I am highly impressed with everything. The power, is amazing and more importantly it feels really safe to use. The traction is phenomenal. When out on a test drive yesterday, I had no choice but to drive over a pot hole in the road and it seemed to gobble it up! Whereas before in a similar car it would crash in and out of similar holes in the road if unavoidable.

We bought our M140i because this is the last manual non-M car!
It's to be kept by Birds as a landmark in the history of BMW drivers' cars. It represents the pinnacle of BMW’s endeavours since the 1970s to create the ultimate driving machine. In our opinion, the disappearance of the true drivers' car is a consequence of a hugely misguided emissions strategy for the motor industry, and we think no cars built since 2019 will have the attributes required by those of us who enjoy driving.

Autocar and Birds have collaborated over the past 6 months on a project car, a BMW F21 M135i, by upgrading many different aspects of the model which are all included in the Birds B1 Complete Conversion package.

Just a quick note to thank you and your staff for the work done on the car, it does indeed feel a different vehicle, the crashing about over bumps and jumping around has disappeared, the engine throttle response is much improved as is the power.
I got back here last night around 10.15pm, hoping I have not triggered any bloody speed cameras.
All being well I will return the car to you early on the 9th March for the brakes, if its ok I will wait while they are done, I can always go for a walk to pass the time.
"Working with BMW tuners Birds, we’re going to replace the standard, under-specified suspension with much higher-quality Bilstein components tuned specifically for the M135i, we’re going to fit a Quaife limited-slip differential and we’re going to lift power to somewhere approaching 400bhp. We might yet make a few other modifications, too..."
